Greetings!
As we move into the new year, I am
encouraged by the sudden upsurge of the energy, and how people are "rising to
the occasion" by putting more effort into their
personal growth and capacity for unconditional love and compassion. I have seen
a welcoming of the new year 2005, with a sense of optimism, in spite of our
stressed political, health, and economic situations, plus the recent tragedies
such as the tsunami, as well as all the various wars and conflicts throughout
the world. People are becoming stronger because of the challenges. Eyes are
opening and veils are being lifted!
In this
newsletter, Australian Richard Giles talks about the new Chinese New Year of the
Wood Rooster. Frequent contributor Robbert Rabbin has another wonderful article
included. Jennifer Shepherd's interview with me is included in this issue in
case you missed it on her site. In it I talk about a couple of things I haven't
made public before in my work. Included are contributions from artist Kirk
Clark, fun things to look at, a tribute to elephants, class pictures, workshop
info and more!
New scheduled workshop areas in 2005 thus
far: QLD, Australia; Marshall, MI; Seattle, WA; San Diego, CA (TBA);
Houston, TX (TBA). Please see the workshop section for up to date scheduling.
Enjoy! See you in a couple of months.

CHINESE YEAR of
the WOOD ROOSTER
The Year of the Big Talk and the Big Reforms
By
Richard Giles

The Chinese New Year commences
each year in February. Traditionally, using their Solar calendar, they start
the year on the 4th February beginning a new zodiac animal cycle. The New Moon
day of 9th February 2005, however, is the official lunar New Year celebration
day when you see the dragons out in the streets and the fireworks ignited.
2004 was the year of the Wood Monkey and what a year it was. Now in the cycle
of twelve animals comes the Rooster. The Rooster in astrology is an honest,
intelligent and candid bird who is generally pretty vivacious and enjoys a
good party or trip out around the place. Because of his brilliance
intelligence he is rated highly by people and can rely on help from others. He
can be very generous and has a great gift for friendship. He achieves his
success by being strong willed and needs to learn to master his character
which can be very unstable at times. He can be preoccupied and anxious if
nothing goes to his liking and can be a worrier about the slightest details.
Rooster is quick to speak and to give
his opinions about many things. So he can be a bit of a problem to himself at
times. He is also charming, charismatic and colourful in his manner. He's
usually a lively character being spontaneous and optimistic. He can be very
organised and neat as well and is often concerned with prestige and can make a
very good networker. In a crisis he can be cool and calm.
On the down side he's a conceited and gregarious type who won't stop giving
opinions. He can be selfish, unkind, sarcastic, insensitive and lethal with
that tongue. Pride, egoism and boasting can be a bit of an issue.
The story of how the Rooster came to be one of the twelve Chinese animals is
quite revealing of character. When the 12 were chosen by the Buddha the
Rooster saw that a very distinguished gathering was coming together and wanted
to know what to do to get into it. The Horse told him that in order to be
chosen you had to use your abilities to help others and mentioned the
rooster's voice. So the Rooster decided to use his magnificent voice to make
it possible to help others. The other animals later suggested to the Buddha
that Rooster had done a great job with his wake-up calls, so the Buddha chose
him as one of the 12.
YEARLY ELEMENTS
The 2005 year ahead is made up of the same elements as 2004. The Chinese
element for the Monkey was Metal and so it is for the Rooster. This is what's
called the Branch part of this year. The other part of the year's element
makeup is referred to as the Stem and is Wood, same as in 2004. This year,
however, the two elements are more of a feminine or softer Metal and Wood and
are thus Yin in nature. The Wood is sitting atop of the Metal which is not the
best relationship between the two of them. There can be difficulty with this
as it has been in the Monkey year.
With the Yin nature of both elements, a coming together process may be more
likely, rather that clashing and antagonisms as we've seen in 2004. The
experience of pressure and tension will mean there is a huge need for shifts
in the structures of the system within the business and commercial world
(ruled by Metal). The Yin nature of the Wood element on top is more that of
the flower or the wind. This can be the gentle breeze of the wind stirring the
flowers and young trees pushing them to new growth. Sometimes the wind picks
up and blows a storm which will happen from time to time in 2005.
The struggles over war and terrorism will still be here, however they will not
be as antagonistic and there will be bigger efforts made to change things in
the world without resorting to more violence. The opportunity for compromise
in settling disputes is more possible in 2005. Do not expect thought that all
will be roses. The Yin metal of the Rooster is about smaller metal items and
among these you can count knives and small detailed jewellery. This means that
there is a chance of people being attacked using knives and small weapons. In
terms of the large picture this could mean political assassinations or
increased petty crime involving weapons and knives in 2005. It can also mean
jewellery is favoured this year and jewellers and jewellery makers are
therefore a good industry to be in.
BUSINESS REFORMS
As Metal rules business we are going to see big changes in the business world
with reforms and new practices coming into being in 2005. New management
systems as well as honesty and reform in business will be important. Metal and
Wood together can also be about inventions and this will be a year of
inventions and technological changes that will be very rapid (especially in
the second half of the year) and may be daunting for people who are not able
to keep up with it all. The breakthroughs in technology that come can be very
exciting and promise changes in agriculture, land practises and the right
treatment of the environment. This could revolve around contamination of air
and water and new ways of dealing with the consequences of polluting
industries.
As the Rooster is a great talker then we will see the growth in the talk show
business and perhaps many, many opinions in the media on how everything ought
to be done. More and more people will be offering solutions to the world's
problems, but not all of these are going to be useful or will even solve
problems. There will, however, be no shortage of opinions. It will be an
exciting year for new ideas and discussion of them.
The last Wood Rooster year in the world was in 1945 when World War Two was
just finishing and the peace came into effect. Note that great battles were
fought in the Pacific and in Europe to bring about the end of that war. So the
same scenarios may apply in 2005. Also in 1945 atomic bombs were first dropped
on civilian populations and the discovery of the Nazi extermination camps came
to world attention as the war finished. Similar events and the exposure of
hidden facts about what has been suppressed by governments may occur in 2005.
Women were first given the right to vote in several European countries that
year and the level of scientific discoveries picked up apace as a result of
the technologies developed during the war years.
DIFFICULT MONTHS
August and September will be two months when the Wood and Metal elements rule
the months as well. These particular months will see scientific developments
picking up the pace. They could also be times when the speed at which the
Rooster wants to work his changes will increase dramatically and we'll see
swift political and business shifts as well as dramatic revelations about the
world or the state of climate changes and pollution levels on the planet.
Remember, it was in August 1945 that Hiroshima and Nagasaki entered the
world's consciousness as atomic targets and our future history then altered
profoundly.
On the positive side the world will see some great innovative technological
changes. People will be open to be more original and innovative approaches.
Issues around money, commerce and changed legislation to update older systems
that no longer work will feature. On the negative side people will speak out
more, become less tolerant of differing opinions and become restless with a
need to be entertained. The entertainment industry and the cult of the 'star'
will continue to grow to distract people from the real issues. There could be
more large earth movements particularly to do with forests or cities. The
destruction of trees and life systems will continue, but the consciousness of
the need to change will also grow alongside it.
Feng Shui changes for 2005 - in order to make things more harmonious
for your household or business in the Rooster year you need to look at what's
happening to the Feng Shui numbers/stars in your house. Each year the Chinese
community consults a practitioner to tell them where the difficult numbers
(Bad Stars) and the supportive numbers have moved to in the house or business
in order to avoid some areas and enhance others. There are remedies you can
place to effect these yearly energies of the house in 2005.
On the 4th February the yearly influences move to new locations. The first two
to identify are the Numbers 5 and 2. They are both sickness or 'Bad Luck'
stars in Feng Shui. They fall into the NorthWest sector of your house and the
East this year. To avoid catching the bad energy from 5 Star you need to place
a metallic windchime with hollow tubes in your NW. Alternatively you can hang
a bell or other metal item but it is best made from copper, brass or bronze.
The Number 2 is in the East and metallic items hung or placed in the area will
help to allay the effect of the 2. If either of these numbers are in an
important area of your house such as the front door, the main bedroom or the
kitchen then if you can, avoid using these as much. Change your front door
around by using another entrance as much as possible this year. Also avoid
hanging any red colours (or pink, purple, orange or earthy colours in these
sectors). If your work desk is here try to shift it to a slightly different
location.
Two other locations will also be sensitive this year. They have the 3 Bad Luck
star and the old 7 star. They are the SouthEast and NorthEast. One of the ways
to deal with the Number 3 Star is to hang a portion of red cloth or put up a
red poster into the SouthEast. The 7 is harder to deal with and needs
specialised attention. You could consult a Feng Shui practitioner to hear
his/her remedies.
Four months in 2005 when the number 5s or 2s double up in the NW or East (and
thus create more issues) are in March, June, September and December. During
those months its important to add an extra bell or metal item to what's
already there.
The Grand Duke - each year the predominant energy of the year comes to
your house via the direction of the current Chinese animal. The Rooster is in
the West and so the energy known as the Grand Duke is coming at you from the
West. The Grand Duke brings obstacles to hinder you. Avoid renovations or
major changes in that sector this year. If your front door is in this position
then a simple Feng Shui remedy is to place a small BaGua mirror with a concave
surface (inwardly curved). This concave mirror reflects the Grand Duke back
and makes it smaller and it has less impact on the house. Hang the BaGua
mirror above the door frame looking out, not on the door otherwise it impacts
on your guests.
Good Fortune Stars - the numbers 8 and 9 hold the best fortune for this
year and they are in the North and the South sectors of any building. If you
have a north or south facing front door this is great. Clean up any junk and
clutter from those sectors so you can use the energy to great advantage. If
your home office desk is in one of these areas then your business will be
supported well this year. The number 8 is in the South and 9 is in the North.
In summary - if you follow many of these directions here you'll feel you are
more in tune with the predominant energies of the Wood Rooster year. Don't
get caught up in the fears that may be around in 2005 or the rush to make it
business wise, but take your time and remember to listen to others' opinions.
The fault in a Rooster year is that you don't listen to whats going on and
thus miss out on connecting at a deeper level with friends, associates and
family. Holding onto older systems and ways of doing things will also set you
up for a fall.
Have a Happy Wood Rooster Year and be
creative and resourceful.

Healer and
Author Alijandra on
"Healing
with the Rainbow Rays"
Interview
with Jennifer Shepherd
Q: Thanks for taking
this time to speak with us, Alijandra. I've really enjoyed reading your first
book, Healing with the Rainbow Rays: The Art of Color Energy Therapy. And I
understand you're working on another one to be released next year. We'll talk
about that plus some of the other things you are involved with in a moment.
But first I wanted to ask you a little more about a concept you introduce in
Healing with the Rainbow Rays. You talk about the "Rainbow Warriors" and how
this is the group of people on the planet right now who have awakened to their
spiritual nature. These are the healers or the "lightworkers" who are feeling
called to help balance the energies of the Earth and bring vibrations of
harmony onto the planet. How long have you known that you were a Rainbow
Warrior? Do you feel that you've always been on a healing path? What's it like
to know that you're a healer?
A: First off, thank you, Jennifer, for
our chat today. I have known that I was a "Rainbow Warrior" since hearing of
the term in the early 1990s. Certainly, I knew that I was a pioneer in my
field, which really is like being a warrior in that you are usually given many
obstacles to overcome. And I have been aware of my general mission of a deeper
dive (than what had previously been accepted) into the rainbow energy since
the mid 1980s.
As I grew into adulthood, I suspected that
my career would take a healing direction. When I was a child, one of my
favorite toys was a doll whose organs could be taken out, painted and
reassembled. She came either pregnant or non-pregnant - your choice! Then
I kept a scrapbook of Life Magazine photos of the brand new heart transplants
just beginning then. I originally trained as an RN. I ended up burning out by
the last semester of an extremely rigorous program. So I finished up, took my
2 day boards, passed and held my license, non-practicing, until it expired.
While I haven't directly used the training, I believe that I have indirectly
utilized the knowledge in my non-traditional healing work.
Being a healer has always seemed to me as
easy as breathing. My only explanation for that is the past lives theory where
I was a healer many, many times. It's almost like "been there, done that," but
it is important to do this kind of work at this particular time in Earth's
history. It is as though all of us who have done it in the past and refined
the work we were doing are now applying it to the difficult passage of Earth
into her ascension. That is one thing that Rainbow Warriors do. There are many
different "jobs" that they have.
Q: In my own spiritual practice, I work
with many different helpers and guides, and some time back it was shown to me
that the Rainbow Warriors also exist on the inner planes. They showed
themselves to me as the spirits of American Indian, Celtic, Aboriginal, and
other indigenous peoples who work as guides to the many healers who are "down
here" in the world of 3-D. Do you find yourself working at all with
indigenous guides when you are doing your healing work with people? What sort
of guides or helpers do you find yourself working with? There can be so many
helpers, can't there? It seems like there are a lot of advanced beings
"rooting" for us and trying to help us to evolve!
A: Yes, the Rainbow Warriors exist on the
inner planes, as well. And you are right, they often are the spirits of
indigenous peoples who are helping the healers on the outer levels. I have had
(over my lifetimes) many from the indigenous guides as my helpers.
I have had a strong spiritual guidance
group over much of my life, but I found that beginning to shift several years
ago. There were actually "changes of the guard!" Initially, when this
happened, I found myself having a somewhat hard adjustment to that as it kind
of felt like family moving away. They let me know that as I was evolving, my
guides had to change to best be able to help me. The worst case of this was
when I "lost" St. Germain several years back. He had been telling me to bypass
him and go directly to Source for my answers. I had been depending on him for
so much, including emotional support. He was always "family" to me. Then
Source Itself moved him away to some other duties. For many years, I mourned
his absence, but I did start going directly to Source. And also Quan Yin
replaced him in her role as guide, which helped some. It has only been a
little over a year, but St. Germain is back. I had passed a number of tests,
as well as spiritual initiations, so he was allowed back. And he is as
opinionated as ever!
Q: You've been drawn to work with color for
some time now, and you share many of the healing techniques you've developed
in your book Healing with the Rainbow Rays. Can you tell us more about how
color rays affect the physical body and the auric field? Why is color so
important, and how does it influence us?
A: Color is so important to us because it
is the frequency of light. Light is a major reason why we can even survive.
Each color hue and shade vibrates on a specific frequency. "Laser light
energy" of color, which are the rainbow rays, heals the body, emotions, and
mind and also aligns the spirit. When there are imbalances within any of the
"bodies," the color energies bring them back to a state of wholeness. While
the physical methods of healing with color are very effective, I still find
that the metaphysical methods work even better as the color is then not
limited to 3D frequencies or pigments. The metaphysical way of "running" or
channeling color is to tap into that universal flow and allow it to travel
through your being and be directed out, usually through the hands. Color
energy can also be directed through a chakra. For those who might want a
definition for chakra, it is commonly viewed as a "subtle energy center in the
body where a concentration of nerves congregate; a particular gland, organ,
and level of consciousness is associated with each chakra."
What is coming through the healer is what
is determined by our guides and inner selves to be what the client is needing
to clean, balance or replenish his body to a vibrant, balanced state of being
at all levels. It is a jump-starter for the one in need, as he often doesn't
have the strength to manage to do it all by himself. The color gives a fresh
influx of beautiful energy which gives the one in need a new beginning and a
great chance for full health restoration.
Q: What are some of the ways that we can
learn to incorporate color into our lives? Does it matter what colors we wear
or what colors we surround ourselves with? Some teachers have even taught that
the colors in our foods can influence us. Have you found that to be true?
A: Yes, it does matter what colors surround
us and what we wear and eat, but it will depend on the sensitivity level, the
imbalance factor, and the receptivity capability of each individual as to how
impacted they would be. If you are in a good state in all your bodies, i.e.
physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, you are less likely to be thrown
off if you are close to an inharmonius shade or hue. You could throw off the
irritation. If you are hyper-sensitive or sick, for example, you may be more
negatively impacted by muddy colors or those that trigger you in your stuff!
But at any rate, choose your clothes colors
with thought for what you are wanting to achieve that day. Make your house and
furnishings reflect who you are through color. Eat wholesome foods -- the
colors of that, unless dingy or stale, make less difference than the
nutrition. But large amounts of certain colors will also impact us through
that color.
Q: You include many wonderful exercises in
your book to help people to become more sensitive to energy, and I loved how
you described these techniques in a really simple style. You don't have to be
a rocket scientist to learn to work with energy, do you? Have you taught
people from all walks of life, all backgrounds, how to work with psychic
energy and understand its properties?
A: Oh, yes, thank God one doesn't have to
be a rocket scientist, or I wouldn't have made the cut! I have put a lot of
effort into the manner in which I describe and lead people through the healing
techniques. I gear the understanding level to approximately 10--12 years of
age and up. I want to interest the young people in these teachings as I know
from having taught a few of them in that age group that they are very skilled
at doing the healing; they "get it." In class, the adults frequently choose
the young ones to work with as they are often more naturally open to the
energy and their intuitive abilities and can really channel it through.
There have been people from all walks of
life and backgrounds, yes. The overwhelming majority still seem to be what is
termed "lightworkers" or the Rainbow Warriors we talked about earlier. I have
found over the years that I teach the teachers. My work is still very new and
pioneering in its scope. It has more often been more appreciated by the
"specialists," shall we say, than the mainstream. But I could take a man or
woman off the street with no background in the healing or metaphysical arts,
and if they could keep their mind open and free of judgment, they could be
taught to channel the color rays.
Q: Another thing I found really useful in
your book is how you go into some detail teaching readers how to protect
themselves from unwanted energy. After a healing session, for instance, you
describe how you need to close the energy field of the person so that they
don't run around soaking up psychic debris from their environment. During a
healing session, the person's energy field is wide open, isn't it? I've heard
many cases where a healing technique is demonstrated on someone at a workshop,
but their auric field isn't closed afterwards, so the person actually goes
home feeling out of sorts afterwards! They pick up gunk on the subway ride
home. You're very clear in your book about how healers have a responsibility
to use caution when healing someone and to protect and ground them after a
session. Do you find that many of us are going around with our auric fields
wide open? How important are shielding techniques?
A: To get into a person's auric field, it
has to be open. The healer can see to that by opening and closing the auric
field. So, yes, it is indeed possible and probably common for the "healee" to
be opened to the point where they are no longer shielded. Many people do walk
around too open in regards to their auric fields. These are usually people who
have difficulty with their personal boundaries. Shielding techniques are
essential for everyone. As long as we have mixed energies to contend with, we
will always need the shields to protect our electromagnetic selves from
discordant energies.
Q: I loved your chapter on identifying
psychic hooks and boundaries. Can you explain a little about what psychic
hooks are? I've found that I'm very sensitive to them, and I'll bet other
people are, too, without realizing it!
A: Psychic hooks are cords of energy that
siphon off energies from their host. In other words, a person may feel very
needy and so they want to tap into their friend or relative to "borrow" energy
from them to feel better. The overwhelming majority of people in the world
have psychic hooks that they are usually unaware of. Getting aware is half the
battle, believe me! Once you identify what and where they are located on your
body, you can get rid of them usually very easily. (Occasionally you get a
difficult one)
So, you have put a hook into another
person, they have put one into you, or there is a mutual hook. Hooks violate
the natural boundaries we all should have. On a utopian world, or on the less
dense levels of creation -- such as the 9th or 10th dimensions, for example --
there is so much blending of energy between the beings, and it's natural and
feels good. Boundaries generally aren't issues there. But on a mixed world
where negative and positive energies often exist side by side, we need to
establish some form of boundary to our auric fields for protection. Unless one
is completely immersed in 100% unconditional love (a natural shield) there are
reasons to have protection to spare your mulitple bodies repeated violations
or insults, shall we say.
Q: You include a lot of tips on how to do
spiritual cleansing, clearing out your auric field and chakras to achieve
greater balance. And you also include photographs of physical postures people
can assume to connect with the energies of each chakra, along with musical
notes and tones that correspond to each chakra. I like how you encourage
people to get into their bodies with this work and not just have it all happen
in the head and mental body! Do you find movement to be an important
component in healing? How much do you use things like music or sound vibration
to help in healing?
A: Sound is the sibling to color or light.
It has a massive influence on us and importance also in healing work. Musical
notes and tones can balance our chakras and each of our subtle bodies.
Movement is very important, just as it is in creation. Without movement, we
become stagnant, and that "bothers" the Universe. Movement is on every level:
physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
Q: I wanted to take a moment, while we're
talking about sound, to mention a special CD that you have available. You
offer Dolphin Merging Volume One, which orients people to the healing energy
of dolphins, right? Tell us more about your own adventures with dolphins and
how this CD came about.
A: For as long as I remember, I've had an
intimate connection to dolphins. I could do a book just on my experiences! I
will say that I have done wild dolphin swims in New Zealand and Hawaii. I have
connected empathically with them in captured situations in theme parks and
aquariums, vortex spots on the earth where they "came" in, and metaphysically
in private energy experiences. Also, I've connected with whales through ocean
trips.
In my new book, "Cosmic Chakras: Advanced
Transfigurational Matrix Healing Techniques to Reclaim Your Divine Oneness", I
include four techniques for energetically connecting with dolphins. Two of
these are featured on the new CD, Dolphin Merging Vol. 1 put out last year. I have had good feedback on the CD and eventually will do a follow up CD with the other two techniques.
On this CD, there is an exercise for
merging our 2 frontal lobes with their 3 lobes which have more abilities than
we do, and a technique on merging our pineal glands (which fosters a deeper
spiritual understanding.) Of course, we are working with an etheric dolphin
(such as an out-of-body state the dolphin would be in) rather than one in the
wild or captivity. Although, I suppose under the right circumstances that
would be possible with the permission of the dolphin selected.
Q: Just so people know, they can order this
wonderful CD through your website. I myself have had a few experiences with
dolphins and cetaceans, and each one took me to an incredible place of joy. I
can highly recommend a CD like this which aligns people with those vibrations!
A: Yes, they may order it through the
website or through Amazon.com. I feel that people who are open to the dolphin
energy will quite enjoy these exercises.
Q: In addition to maintaining your healing
practice and your workshops, you are busily working on your second book. Can
you tell us a little about it?
A: Yes, the new book is called "Cosmic Chakras: Advanced Transfigurational
Matrix Healing Techniques to Reclaim
Your Divine Oneness". I will say that it probably isn't for the novice healer
but one with some background and experience already. But it is an important
piece of work, as it goes into areas that I have never before seen presented
by other authors or teachers. I trust that the information comes from Source
as I have seen the techniques in action, and the healers report back such
wonderful comments about how they work so well, beyond other techniques that
they may have previously tried.
Q: I had spoken with you about your book
earlier, and you mentioned that one of the areas that the material covers is
the healing of the shadow. The shadow is such a powerful, mysterious aspect
of ourselves, and I find that many in the holistic health community really
don't want to "go there." So they sort of ignore looking at it. I find that it
gets people out of whack, to ignore this aspect of our being. In fact, I don't
know if you've noticed this, but a lot of healers themselves can disown the
shadow aspect so strongly that it almost becomes a monster of its own,
operating independently of them! I've found this especially true with "white
lighters," people who try to be all "love and light" all the time. By focusing
on just those energies, they become very polarized. All of their "positive"
energy goes into their healing practice. Meanwhile, outside of their work,
they can be very depressed, fatigued, or have a lot of chaos going on. Do you
find that healers go through their own unique challenges in facing the shadow?
What do you recommend that healers do to start incorporating the shadow so
that they can achieve more balance?
A: You have said it so well, there
is really little to add. I have worked extensively with "white lighters" who
deny the shadow energies, until they come up to bite them! Denial by stuffing
them into Pandora's Box works briefly, until the there is a little stress
applied, and then the shadows break out and run the show. Or the other extreme
is a person who allows the shadows to dominate, and they are always in charge.
My view of the shadow energies is that they need to be heard, then healed,
brought into balance with the rest of the being, and then cleared. I find
that, like children, they really don't want to run the show but to have
"someone" they trust to listen to them, work with healing them, and then lead
them.
Q: Speaking of the shadow, in "Healing with
the Rainbow Rays", you talk about the power of the color black and its unique
properties for healing. I was excited to find this, because black is actually
a very powerful color, isn't it? It's sort of misunderstood.
A: I am so happy that you have recognized
black as the wonderful ray that it is! Vastly misunderstood throughout
milennia, I suspect, but so incredible a transformer of stuck energy -- there
is nothing quite like it. It also grounds and tests us. It is the one ray that
gets its own weekend class. It features throughout creation as the "dark
matter" in space, the force that gives movement to universes expanding, the
Tao ray that shakes up the status quo. That is why it may scare some people.
As I say in my book, "Healing with the
Rainbow Rays", misuse of the color rays is always possible if the intent isn't
good. And generally, those who have practiced what one calls "black magic" are
people who manipulate the energies through the elements: earth, air, fire,
water and ether.
Q: On your website, too, you have many
wonderful articles about healing with color. I'll include a link here to the
one you've written about the healing properties of gold and silver, which I
recommend readers take a peek at. (Click
here to read Alijandra's article about gold and silver.)
Do you consider yourself more of a gold or a silver person or a little of
both?
A: Thank you for appreciating the articles.
Actually, I was always very heavy on the silver color. It took a few years and
a fair amount of practice to bring the gold in to attain the balance between
the two colors. Now, I have a good balance of the two colors, but not without
some practice on my part.
Q: I want to also mention that you have a
free ezine that people can subscribe to which contains many inspiring articles
and links.
A: Yes, we have a bimonthly free ezine
which usually contains a new article from me and several articles from guest
authors. There are often photos, artwork or poetry added. I will update people
on when, what and where my classes are and other information. Your name is not
sold or given out, so you won't have to worry it will end up on a list
somewhere getting spammed!
Q: In your upcoming book, Cosmic Chakras,
you'll be exploring some cutting edge themes. Can you give us a quick taste of
what the material will be about? What are the cosmic chakras, anyway? What are
you referring to when you use that term?
A: I am very excited about the new book as
it is a culmination of the last seven years of gathering material, primarily
from Source, and then testing the techniques out in a classroom setting.
Material ranges from the shadow emotions chapters to ourselves as the Matrix;
from earth oriented connecting to nature and our solar system to
multidimensional chakra linking; from introducing some "new" rays to the
atomic restructurers; working with most of the organs and glands in depth to
atomic acceleration and much more! It is named Cosmic Chakras because all of
our chakras are actually cosmic in origin. We are all linked on a universal
grid of Oneness.
Q: It sounds like this book is going to be
a wonderful counterpart to your first book, Healing with the Rainbow Rays.
You're sort of taking the material to a more advanced level, working with a
different dimensional focus. Do you feel that it's time for this material to
be released on the planet? It seems like a lot of people are waking up to
understanding things from a quantum perspective now, exploring quantum
physics, holographic theory, and that place where science and spirit
intersect.
A: Sometimes I will admit that I wonder if
my timing on getting this material out is too soon, but pioneering means just
that -- breaking new ground, finding new possibilities. Quantum physics,
hyperspace and holographic theories stretch our stubborn boundaries and insist
that we be willing to be open to other ways of looking at life. I have often
said that the metaphysical person often has more of an adjustment wrapping
their brain around these new concepts than the quantum scientist and sometimes
must stretch farther to connect with the quantum view of things. The quantum
material sounds even more "absurd" than typical metaphysical belief. Both
views must be able to meet on common ground.
Q: Well, I'm very happy that you've taken
this time to discuss these healing techniques with us and to share some of
your experiences with us. When do you estimate that your new book will be out?
A: I hope to have it out by spring 2005 at
the latest. It has been approximately 7+ years in development, and is very
cutting-edge in the material. It is the next stage for healers and their
clients, and for healers and themselves.
Q: And in the meantime, people can check
out your website, sign up for your free newsletter, and look for your dolphin
CD and Healing with the Rainbow Rays, which they can order off your site.
A: Yes, my site is "Healing with the
Rainbow Rays" at
www.colorhealing.com. There is a lot to
see there, as I have posted many articles (some from the books, some not) and
guest articles, as well as the free bimonthly ezine, past issues and just
some fun pages to pursue. And of course you may order the audio tapes and
dolphin CD, the Healing with the Rainbow Rays book, also the Portuguese
translation of the book. When the new book, Cosmic Chakras, comes out it will
also be available through the site.
Q: I hope you'll make a return visit with
us here at LipstickMystic.com when it's time to release the book. I'd love to
do a follow up interview with you then. In the meantime, I wish you the best
with your projects and lots of creative energy for completing your book! I
know how challenging it can be writing a book, and this one sounds so
exciting. Thanks again for chatting with us.
A: Thank you, Jennifer, for the opportunity
to connect with you and your readers. And thanks so much for the support and
understanding you have shown my work

OUR SOUL AT WORK
by Robert Rabbin
We all want to enhance our experience of
work and enrich our work environments with greater meaning, purpose, joy, and
deep human connection. We want our work to be a place of inspiration, where we
can find full creative outlet for our deepest values and highest vision How do
we do this? Let’s look inside our own self, into our own soul, for guidance.
If we're going to use the word soul in
a business context, we'd better define it. Otherwise, this single word—often
thought of as abstract, esoteric, and impractical—might create confusion, doubt,
and maybe even cynicism. There are many definitions of soul, some more precise
than others, put forward by various religious, spiritual, and metaphysical
belief systems. For me, the words soul and spirit refer to the vital principle
or animating force within all living beings.
Soul refers to those gorgeous moments of
self-transcendence in which we experience communion with the whole of existence,
in which we find ourselves intimately connected to everything and everyone. Soul
evokes a dimension of living which compels us to fall suddenly silent with awe
and gratitude. In these radical moments of pure living, the mask of appearances
falls away, and we encounter the timeless mystery of life.
How can we integrate our elevated
experience of soul with our sense of self in the mundane world? How can our work
feed our soul and how can our soul feed our work? How and when do we discover
the higher purpose in our work? How are we to embody and demonstrate the values
of soul at work, where so many other values systems demand our loyalty? What are
the implications of soul in the context of our work lives?
Soul implies connection. Recognizing this
real and living connection with others means that we honor others by treating
them with respect, kindness, compassion, and dignity.
Soul implies beauty. This means that our
actions must preserve the natural beauty of life in all its manifestations. It
means we will not destroy, pollute, defile, or degrade any expression of life.
Soul implies truth. This means we must
speak the truth, we must be accountable for our actions, and we must be
straightforward in our dealings with each other and with everyone who is
impacted by what our organization does. It means we are bound to be honest and
transparent in our actions and intentions.
Soul implies balance and harmony. This
means we must keep our priorities in order and give equal time to our own
personal growth, to our families, to our communities—to those pursuits and
activities that enrich our whole life. Recognizing the need for balance, we will
not be compulsive or greedy, we will not sacrifice the integrity of this moment
for a future promise.
Soul implies universality. This means
that we are all shareholders in certain basic values. What do we all want? We
all want to be appreciated, to be accepted, to make a positive contribution to
others. We want to feel that our lives and our labors make a positive
difference. We want to give, to serve, to be the reason for someone else's
happiness and well-being. A popular bumper sticker reminds us to serve others in
these words: Practice random acts of kindness.
Soul implies inspiration and deep
passion. This means that we live and work from our hearts, from what we truly
love. If we follow our hearts to work, we will not need to be motivated by some
cheap management trick to give our best effort. Our heart will always ask us to
give our best, for the sake of love and passion. We will not need to be bribed.
Enthusiasm, cooperation, and commitment are the hallmarks of a heartfelt life.
Soul implies joy. This means that we work
from joy, with joy, and towards joy. This is not a Pollyanna principle, because
I think that everything we do in life is for the sake of joy. Let joy be our
standard: if joy is present, we are doing things right, and doing things well.
If not, we are doing things wrong, and we should stop and figure out how to get
back on track. Can you imagine a performance review whose only question was:
Please rate the amount of joy you experience, on a scale of one to 10.
Soul implies going beyond conventional
boundaries. This means we should always feel free to risk new ideas and new
approaches to old problems. This means we should develop our minds and bodies
and spirits so that they glow with creativity and innovation. This means we
would welcome boldness, diversity, and initiative. We would be open to
continuous learning and growth; and not just for the sake of profit, but for the
sake of being creative, dynamic human beings.
Soul implies clarity and awareness. This
means that we speak and act mindfully. Mindfulness is the moment-to-moment
awareness of our true motives and intentions. Mindfulness means to be deeply in
touch with our thoughts and emotions every moment. Mindfulness means that we are
able to see what is actually happening around us, and to not be confused or
misled by our own projected fantasies and ideas of what is happening. This means
we are committed to illuminating the unlit aspects of our subconscious that
often drive us without our knowing.
These are some of the things I mean by
soul, and some of the implications of soul in the workplace, as I see it. I am
not proposing an exact formula, for it is the task of each person to give
authentic expression to their soul.
But I do believe with my whole heart that
we must at all times speak of soul, liberate soul, nourish soul, recognize soul,
and reward soul in the workplace. This is how we can redeem our life from
tedium, how we can work with a full spirit, and how we can honor our society.
I’d like to leave you with a few
questions to ponder, perhaps to discuss with others:
What is your definition of "soul"? Is this
definition based on what others have told you, on what you have read, or from
your own direct experience? Does your awareness of soul guide your choices and
decisions in life? Have you ever had a conversation about soul with colleagues
in the workplace? How do you feel when you are required by your job to say or do
something that runs counter to the knowing of your soul? How do you reconcile
this? What fears come up when you consider being truly authentic and congruent
with your soul’s wisdom? How do you deal with them?

Shaman Conversion Cross by Kirk Clark
(fusion of the Atomic Jesus idea with the shamanic style)
ELEPHANTS SAVE HUMANS
KHAO LAK, Thailand (Reuters) -
Agitated elephants felt the tsunami coming, and their sensitivity saved about
a dozen foreign tourists from the fate of thousands killed by the giant waves.
"I was surprised because the elephants had
never cried before," mahout Dang Salangam said on Sunday on Khao Lak beach at
the eight-elephant business offering rides to tourists. The elephants started
trumpeting -- in a way Dang, 36, and his wife Kulada, 24, said could only be
described as crying -- at first light, about the time an earthquake measured
at a magnitude of 9.0 cracked open the sea bed off Indonesia's Sumatra island.
The elephants soon calmed down. But they
started wailing again about an hour later and this time they could not be
comforted despite their mahouts' attempts at reassurance.
"The elephants didn't believe the mahouts.
They just kept running for the hill," said Wit Aniwat, 24, who takes the money
from tourists and helps them on to the back of elephants from a sturdy wooden
platform. Those with tourists aboard headed for the jungle-clad hill behind
the resort beach where at least 3,800 people, more than half of them
foreigners, would soon be killed. The elephants that were not working broke
their hefty chains.
"Then we saw the big wave coming and we
started running," Wit said.
Around a dozen tourists were also running
toward the hill from the Khao Lak Merlin Resort, one of a line of hotels
strung along the 10 km (6-mile) beach especially popular with Scandinavians
and Germans.
"The mahouts managed to turn the elephants
to lift the tourists onto their backs," Kulada said.
She used her hands to describe how the huge
beasts used their trunks to pluck the foreigners from the ground and deposit
them on their backs.
The elephants charged up the hill through
the jungle, then stopped.
The tsunami drove up to 1 km (1,000 yards)
inshore from the gently sloping beach which had been so safe for children it
made Khao Lak an ideal place for a family holiday. But it stopped short of
where the elephants stood.
On Sunday, the elephants were back at work
giving rides to the tourists on whom the area depends.

Book Review
Insi
de the Mind of
God: Images and Words of Inner Space
Edited by Michael Reagan
- Hardcover: 160 pages
- Publisher: Templeton Foundation Press (October 1, 2002)
- ISBN: 1890151971
Upon seeing
the title and cover of this book, I picked it up from the bookstore. It is
lovely eye-candy! It has a colorful picture of a human brain on the front
cover. Always curious as to what is in the mind of God, it was a have-to-have it
book.
It combines
for the most part beautiful images (and some stunningly beautiful) of the inner
body processes blown up to mega-size and, in some cases, resembling a kind of
impressionistic art. Even cancer cells have a certain beauty blown up many times
their actual size.
Among the many
images, with carefully chosen quotations that match each picture so well, are
adrenaline crystals; synaptic connections between neurons (brain cells), the flu
virus, normal white blood cells, and so much more!
What this kind
of compilation does is to bring home the resounding truth that we are a living
universe---each of us. We are not so different than the grand Hubble shots of
deep space that have become so sought after. While we metaphysicians "knew" this
truth intuitively, it is now verifiable by photography. It is a bit like when aura
photography came into vogue and made the electromagnetic field accessible
visually to the masses.
This is a book
of inspiration, and it succeeds grandly in its intent. I highly recommend it to
those of you who can be fascinated by your inner workings and inspired by the
wonderful quotes which accompany each picture.
