I rarely discuss politics with anyone and I rarely send out extra newsletters, but after discussing world conditions with a friend, and knowing how many of my clients worry about it, I've decided to share this spiritual perspective outside the regular newsletter. A friend sent me this link (http://tinyurl.com/33l95c) which leads to a rather lengthy but interesting perspective on who really controls the world. The talk is given by a man who has witnessed the greed firsthand. I watched it and rather than being shocked, all I could think was, "Duh." I hadn't heard specifics like these but it didn't surprise me at all to find that the elevated prices of oil were a complex manipulation of man. I joked with a friend over a month ago that someone needs to write the textbook, "Same Stuff Different Day - A Primer on World History." Actually I used a different word than 'stuff' :)

As long as there have been great empires, there have been manipulations, greed, strategies, etc. There has also been the beauty shown to the world in terms of art, technological achievements, humanitarian projects, etc., and there has always been a dark undercurrent with its own machinations running behind the scenes. This isn't new. That's why I can't get into the conspiracy stuff that many friends of mine like to discuss. As far as I'm concerned, yes - it exists, so what, it always has, and we can either be drawn into those discussions, or we can rise above them by elevating our own consciousness so we do not feed the vibration that supports such manipulations. We can make God our higher power, rather than giving into fear that oil prices, the stability of the dollar, of even the so called powers that run nations are our Gods. We must not worship false idols if we are to ever create true and lasting change upon this earth.

SO many people spend their lives fighting the systems, but the only fight we must win is the battle to have love prevail over darkness, starting within our own minds and our own hearts, and then spilling out into the world around us. Only this can elevate our spirits to pursue what is truly worthy of our attention. Only this can stop feeding the demons of greed and fear.

The angels said something interesting to a client a few months back that reflects this internal struggle that is out-pictured always, on a grand scale. This was back when there were three major candidates vying for the US presidential position. They said one candidate represents the part of us that wants to continue on doing things the way we always have, ignoring the need for deep change, for fear of upsetting the system and others. One represented the part of us that wants to make a difference and wants to change but is still willing to play the old manipulative games and use the old ways of strategizing to do it. The third represents the idealistic part of ourselves that trulyants change in a new way and yet must do create it in a very in a grounded manner, and with eyes open or else will be subject to manipulation if we are not willing to peer into the dark and acknowledge it is there as well within us. They said all three are an out-picturing of the forces that struggle within most human souls. If consciousness does not want to change at all, we pick one candidate. We've ruled out the one that would create change using the old ways. And now we choose between relatively little change, or totally stirring things up. It seems there are no shades of gray here, and its time we all discover that dark and light, and opposites are all part of One God. The angels do not support one candidate over the other. They support love in all human hearts and that is beyond political party, borders, race, religion, or creed.

The drama reminds me of the Star Wars mythology, notably episodes I-III that chronicle the mythical fall of the empire. There was the Senator Palpatine that represented the established order in public, but behind the scenes answered to the evil emporer. There was Anakin Skywalker who was young and idealistic but his zealous idealism coupled with his fear allowed him to succumb to the manipulations of the emperor. And then there were Luke and Leia - a new generation that refused to give into fear, anger, and instead embraced higher consciousness. The battles were of course for the sake of drama, but the story has a lot to teach us - both about the big picture in human history, but more importantly about the forces that vye for attention within our own souls.

There is within us always, a resistance to deep change and tendency to want to change the outer life in the hopes of affecting our inner world - but that never works. "If we just get this new 'xyz' then we'll be happy. When we find the man or woman of our dreams, we'll be happy," and this list goes on. External changes bring temporary gain but never lasting satisfaction. Our soul's achievements are eternal and our issues remain with us until healed from within. So too governments that try to change things from the outside first, simply create band-aids rather than true solutions. When I want to pay a bill, I must look inside myself and find the abundance of love in my heart. I must let that love flow out into the world, in integrity with my spirit, to receive the reflection from life. If I just work myself to death, etc. I may make more money, but that in and of itself is not abundance in my life. Its just a band-aid for a temporary problem. Better to work hard if I must, but with gratitude that I have the work, and with a dedication to love.

There is within us also a tendency to want to strategize and manipulate even if that is in the smallest ways - crash dieting for example to force your body into new form rather than sitting still and listening to what the body is trying to tell you to eat; trying to get someone to see things your way rather than blessing them and moving into circles that match your own mind and heart; doing something now that you don't like in the hopes of getting something you do later. The list goes on. I passed on the opportunity this week for my own television show because in my mind and heart I loved the idea, but knew it didn't fit my life circumstances at this moment. I could have put myself in a challenging situation now to achieve gain later, but I can no longer sacrifice the present to manipulate a situation for the future. I must trust God to guide me at all times, according to a greater design. As a result, I do not have to sacrifice happiness now for gain later.

There is within each of us a tendency towards idealism that, coupled with impatience, opens us up to the world's manipulations. I can't count the number of times someone says, "If I were rich it would solve all my problems," and that desire to be immediately rich opens them up to the manipulations of con artists who promise to make them rich quickly, or marketing companies that promise easy money. In my younger days, I succumbed to the manipulations of a sociopathic individuals out of my impatience for a relationship - I wasn't willing to wait for what was deep and true, and so I fell prey to those who appeared to give me the love I wasn't giving myself. I lacked the discernment that comes with patience and the willingness to see both dark and light.

We also have within us the seeds of God's Divine presence. These seeds are patient, willing to grow in their own time, willing to bring us great harvest of abundance, love, expression, and change, if we tend them carefully, remove the weeds, and water them. In plain English this means we must honor our dreams of a better world but create it inside of us first. We must patiently weed out our own fears, angers, greed, strategies, etc. and start to trust God or the process of life and growth itself. We must turn towards the light and water our path with loving choices in every small moment.

ONLY if we create these inner changes can we ever change our outer world, whether it is our own life circumstances, or the powers that control our governments. Only when we turn towards love and faith in a higher power that can and does provide for us if we let it, can we be free inside of our minds and hearts. Freedom is not given to us by another. Freedom comes within our own minds. Being free is not being free from outer circumstances, but rather being free to stand in the truth inside of us. No matter what the circumstance, we are loving, eternal souls, who are in fact, never ever able to be harmed of diminished in spirit. We are souls who will always return home to a bliss beyond reason after this life- if we point ourselves towards the light while we are here.

Governments, world banks, and other such institutions may 'control' outer circumstances here upon the earth but the individuals within them, like ourselves, will stand in the light of God at the end of their lives and compare their own hearts and actions to the Love of God. Those who have acted with integrity in their spirits will be glorified and welcome in this light. Those who have not will melt in a puddle of deep and lonely sorrow, realizing that for all the power and money they acquired in one lifetime, they cut themselves off from the light that sustains them. I promise you, from speaking to the dead every day for over thirteen years, there is no greater suffering and no greater loneliness than to realize you cut yourself off from the one God. A lifetime of wealth and pleasure achieved in an unloving way fades quickly for such souls after death. It is gone. All that is left is the love, or lack thereof, that has been cultivated within the soul in question. God does not punish such souls. God loves them all, but they have turned away. They can choose to repent and ask for forgiveness, but after death there is no lie that works, no manipulation that achieves any end, and no way except the way of a sincere desire to do better that would elevate such souls. Most of them are simply not capable of it yet. It is the heart, not the mind, that dictates where you end up after death.

That is why I do not worry about conspiracies, governments, world banks, or even oil prices. I am concerned only with whether or not I am acting in integrity and acting in love; whether I am speaking truth and asking God to guide my life, or whether I am starting to strategize and manipulate myself to get what I think I need; whether I am patient, allowing God's will to unfold in my life, or whether my idealism has me forcing the river. If we all could focus upon this - to place our faith and trust in the source that creates us then we would never be bullied, controlled, or manipulated by outer forces. Then at the end of my life, I will have graduated from this earthly school, and so will you. Whether or not we strive to achieve the world's power, wealth, or glory has little do with the eternal power of love, the wealth of God's light filling your heart, and the glory of knowing the true nature of your own soul. Funny, but if you embrace these inner qualities here on earth, you may just get your wealth, power, and glory in a good way, anyway. The outer will always reflect the inner.

Consciousness is the answer to all problems. The world does not teach that, nor promote it, but we must embrace a higher consciousness based on love if we are ever to create real and lasting change. The children coming into the world know this. We must be like a child to enter the kingdom of heaven. A child is innocent. A child trusts their needs will be taken care of. A child speaks their perspectives without attachment to who agrees or not. A child is pure, and within us we can find that purity once again.

Don't succumb to fear in this world. Focus on the good. Focus on what you do want. Be patient, trust God, and then the kingdom of heaven will begin to unfold in your earthly life no matter what the circumstances of this world.
