"That fantastic point where science and magic meet !"

Volume 7  Number 5                       October---November  2004                    Emerald Star Publishing

Greetings,

Wow! I have been lately experiencing a kind of deja vu from 1995, when I was completing my first book. As I finish up this new book "Cosmic Chakras: Advanced Transfigurational Matrix Healing™ Techniques for Reclaiming Your Divine Oneness", I flashback to my "giving birth" to the first book "Healing with the Rainbow Rays" and how HUGE this process is!

I've been gathering new information since approximately 1997, and did not really start this current book with the compiled material until this past July. So, now I am in the thick of it! Those of you who have done this know what I am talking about. Even though I have been through it myself, I still have enormous respect for any writer, especially those who have completed a work.

Oddly enough, the gestation periods for both projects are 7 years. The number 7 is one of my key numerology numbers. I didn't "plan" for it to be this way, but the forces of the Cosmos have a larger say, and sway, in the matter!

I hope to be completed by the end of this year with this project. Any good wishes, positive prayers and loving thoughts sent this way for Cosmic Chakras' "gentle birth"  are humbly and thankfully received.  I will update you in the next newsletter---the December/January issue.

By the way, have a wonderful Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays!

And in the US, don't forget to exercise your right to vote on Nov. 2, 2004.

In the meantime, here is the latest newsletter.

Building a Rainbow Bridge Between You and Others

 By Alijandra

As we move through life, most people have issues of conflict or stress with certain others in their lives. This technique will be a good remedy to alleviate the strife between you and another. It is an intense forgiveness process. Remember, too, that nearly everyone you have conflicts with may be very intimately connected to you at a soul level. We usually fight with those we know well!

·       As always, ground, clear and protect. [If you are new to this, best refer to my book Healing with the Rainbow Rays, or another book which lists how to do the basics}.

·       Move to your heart chakra. Picture the person with whom you have an issue..

·       See if you can contact a higher essence of that person---either higher self, or other       dimensional aspect wherein there is not the same kind of conflict.

·       Build a rainbow bridge by visualizing the bridge as having all the major 13 rainbow rays as its composition.  Remember, your intent will bring this into fruition.

·        Picture the rainbow bridge in front of you, leading to this higher aspect of the other person on the other side.

·       Move your essence across this bridge to the other side where your  “other” is standing, awaiting your arrival.

·       Greet the other in love, light, free will and balance. Ask for resolution with them, whether it be a need to seek forgiveness, or simply to drop the unproductive conflict. Feel the response from him/her. If there is a negative response, drop it and move onto someone else, unless you want to try his/her essence at yet another level.

·       Ask to do a chakra link with them, if it is appropriate to the experience. If so, start at the base, and finish at the black ray chakra. [For a list of the chakras, their colors and positions, see this link in the articles section of the website.  The Twelve Major Chakras ]  Use one ray of  the chakra color plus one ray of silver and one ray of gold (for female and male balance) through the violet crown center. For the etheric chakras (silver, gold, white, clear and black), use just one strand of their individual color to connect. You would braid into the same corresponding chakra as your own, i.e. your solar plexus to their solar plexus.

·       Allow for the healing to take place. Say what you need to say, feel what you need to feel. But uppermost in your intent should be the conflict resolution, not who is right and who is wrong.

·       When complete, unbraid, thank them and move back along the bridge. Clear any  unnecessary energies, and ground again.

We Can't Separate the Inseparable

by Robert Rabbin

I am a spiritual activist, a person who feels that spiritual practice, study, and wisdom are inseparable from the minutiae of day-to-day living. The German-born architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe once said, "God is in the details." This is a wonderful slogan for a spiritual activist. The demonstration of our spiritual work must find expression in our every word, choice, and action. We cannot separate yoga, meditation, and deep spiritual work from living: they are inseparable. We cannot separate the spiritual from the worldly. These are language-based distinctions we use to appreciate various aspects of the great Mystery of existence. It is a tragic conceit to think that yoga, meditation, and spiritual wisdom exist outside daily life. They don't. A flower and its fragrance cannot be separated, because they are innately inseparable.

Along these lines, I'd like to share an excerpt from a recent email I received, and my response.

"I was initially attracted to you and your mailing list because of, for lack of a better word, spirituality -- your clarity and accuracy in issues of the Holy, or God, or the Great Mystery. Recently, however, it seems that everything coming from your direction has been your political and anti-war sentiments.

"While I respect your opinion and your right to speak and email whatever you wish, I would just like to let you know that the more you wander into political territory and away from spirituality, the more you alienate me, and perhaps others, as a 'fan' of your work. The more you speak about politics, the more my respect for you evaporates.

"My point in writing this is primarily to say that I have seen other spiritual figures whom I respect and admire look foolish and lose respect when they wander away from their true area of expertise, and begin to think that they are experts not only in matters of the spirit, but in everything else as well."

As I travel around the country talking with many people, and corresponding with many more, I frequently encounter this point of view. I have been rebuked by some yoga and meditation teachers for circulating "An Open Letter of Conscience and Choice," for "mixing spirituality and political choice." I understand this, because I was at one time a poster-boy for this perspective. Perhaps that is why I was so attracted to this letter: it showed me the distance I have traveled in my life and consciousness, from that first step long ago when my kundalini opened like an exploding sun.

I do not believe in such things as "spiritual" and "political" as though they were shoes and beer-bottles. They are just notions in the mind and have life and force only to the extent we empower them. The naming of things is a feature of the mind: its nature is to name and separate one thing from another. Beyond the mind, in the realm of Silence, all things are expressions of one Consciousness and have the same name.

I have never felt that I had any "expertise in matters of spirit." If anything, 35 years of spiritual practice and study have made me acutely aware of all that I don't know. I must admit, however, that I have encountered the infinite majesty of the Great Mystery and can confirm that it is aptly named. I also confess to knowing that I am a portion of the Great Mystery and to feeling within my blood the murmurs of a universal heart. In this heart I live as a song of Silence. In this song there are no verses of murder and the mayhem of war. I am not an expert in spiritual or political matters; but I constantly hear the murmur of the universal heart within my blood, telling me that I must pour my heart into this world, that I must live in this world as a strong emblem of love and peace.

My Merriam-Webster dictionary defines politics as "the totality of relationships between people living in society, especially involving power, authority, and influence " To say that one should refrain from politics is like saying that one should refrain from breathing. It is not possible. From cradle to grave, we exist in relationship. Our very life comes from others. Our food comes from others. Our clothes come from others. We are affected by others, as they are by us. Think of your life: it is nothing but relationship, and each relationship includes negotiations and transactions of power, authority, and influence.

How are we to live in these relationships? To me, this question is of equal weight and importance to "Who am I?" This latter question is often regarded as spiritual, while the former is termed worldly. Nonsense.

During the last few years in America, we seen the growth and popularization of ancient nondual wisdom traditions like Vedanta, Kashmir Shaivism, and Dzogchen. This is good news. However, with popularization comes the danger of distortion. One such distortion lies in thinking that the answer/resolution to the question "Who am I?" represents the summit of Self-Realization. It does not.

"Who am I?" is but half of the true question; the other half is "How shall I live?" The answer/resolution to this true question is the gateway to realized Self-expression.

If one only asks "Who am I?" then one has but one leg, one hand, one eye, and half a heart. I want to be whole, for I am whole. So I also ask, "How shall I live?" Asking this gives me my second leg, second hand, second eye, and whole heart.

"Who am I? How Shall I live?" is really one question, one breath, one path, one realization. Insight and action are one movement; realization and expression are one movement. One cannot separate nondual perception and knowledge from its behavioral corollary. Pure consciousness and the world are not different. Each exists as reflections of the other. Therefore, knowledge and action arise together, just as form and formlessness arise together. The perception of self, other, and world as vibrations of pure consciousness is only the foothills, not the high mountains.

"Who am I?" is the easier part of the koan: I am that which is beyond thought and concept; I am that eternal Silent presence which pervades the entire cosmos and which lives in and as all things.

Okay. Now what? Now comes the hard part: "How shall I live?" Taking up this question with sincerity and commitment is the true beginning of realized Self-expression, the true beginning of spiritual maturity and wisdom. What, in fact, does a life of Oneness look like? How shall I live?
From whom and from where shall I receive money? To whom and to what shall I give my money? For whom shall I vote? What car shall I drive? What is my civic responsibility to my community, country, and the world? How much responsibility do I take for the condition of the world, the world of which I am a part?

These are just a few of the questions that one must ask and answer every day. There are many more. What are they? Please spend some time with these questions, let the asking and the listening for answers affect how you live your life. As with "Who am I?" do not be content with first answers. Dig deep. Challenge your beliefs. Challenge what your teachers have told you. Challenge your complacency.

Asking "Who am I?" alone leads only to self-absorption and spiritual narcissism; it does not lead to wisdom or to freedom. In your spiritual practice, if you do not already do so, please begin asking the true and correct question: "Who am I? How shall I live?"

THE JOY OF LOVING MYSELF

by Rayna Lumbard, LMFT

You've heard it all before: unblock your potential, tune into your spiritual guidance, follow that guru, listen to this tape, transform your mind, feel all your feelings, and whatever you do--you must love yourself.

With all the self-help books, healing tapes, and enlightening personal growth seminars abounding--many of which almost demand that we be clear, present, and loving--it's no wonder most of us feel overwhelmed!

The New Age has a new focus--we know now that self-caring and self-esteem are not the same as "selfish." Loving yourself is a way of life that is essential--for optimal physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.  Loving yourself is also at the core of loving others.

So why does it seem such an awesome task to take on, especially for women?  It all started from our childhood experiences. The ways our parents and others "loved" us often didn't feel good to us. We learned that others' needs were more important than our own. So how do we learn how to truly love ourselves?  How do we open to the loving nature that is innately ours?

There are many ways to approach this essential, life-affirming, transformative process.  One way I learn to love myself is by opening my heart to people who embody unconditional love: skilled counselors, spiritual teachers, caring friends, bodyworkers, and others who are available to support me in breaking through internal barriers.  I ultimately rely on my own inner wisdom and still small voice of love to guide me to experience the depths and heights of my being, where my own answers are.  I am really learning to accept myself being and feeling perfect as I am, whole, complete, and at peace with myself.  As I resonate to my Truth, I am AT ONE with all around me.

Now I am clear that my goal is to create my life in ways that will truly fulfill me.  I attract loving and fulfilling relationships with others who are aligned with my energy and purpose. These loving souls complement my talents and playfulness in many ways that help me release negative thoughts from the past.  I happily release beliefs such as, if I am myself, others will reject me, or that being me is undeserving or worthy of love or abundance. I am then free to harmonize with others and together our energies express through music, ceremonies, and other sacred avenues--creating a symphony of love that resonates out into the Universe.

I feel a new sense of personal power surging through my veins.  I am truly alive as I awaken to my spiritual transformation.  I have broken out of my safe but restrictive cocoon to fly as freedom calls to me.  Now I trust my own abilities to work and play feeling the joy and passion of connecting from my heart's desire.

When I love myself unconditionally, I make friends with my body, no matter what size or condition it is in.  As I become my own nurturer, I find out why my inner child self has "chosen" to be in pain or out of shape.  I keep listening to myself so that I heal the wounds from the past that have kept me stuck in old patterns that no longer serve me.  I send in healing rays of light, sound, my spirit guides, or other energies to complete the process.  I find pleasure in healing myself physically through my emotions and spirit.  Now I do believe that I deserve to be happy, healthy, and loved!  By loving myself, I accept my body's changes and do what feels right to stay energetic and youthful.

Humor is another way I love myself.  When I take myself lightly, I tune into the richness that life offers as well as the valuable lessons that help me grow.  I find kindred spirits who laugh and play with me.  I take one day at a time and stay grounded in who I am and what's important to me.  I can be spontaneous as well as mindful and focused, in a balance that works for me.

I consciously decide how I choose to spend my time and energy.   I treat life as a special gift that has been giving to me to enjoy.  I am an artist expressing life through acts of lovingkindness similar to a weaver making a beautiful tapestry of rich colors blending together to form a whole picture--a true work of art!  I am honest in how I represent myself as I express those qualities that are most important to me: harmony, creativity, fluidity, love, peace, joy, and sacredness for life.  I accept my humanness, and breathe in a deep sense of knowing that all is in divine order in my universe.

The clarity I feel now comes from knowing and trusting that WE ARE ALL LOVE. I am truly committed to sharing love in healthy ways, to assisting others in transforming their lives as well as in transforming our beautiful planet.  My journey through life as a loving channel of healing love energy is intimately involved with finding creative solutions to old personal, social, and planetary challenges.

New and meaningful adventures await us all as we live in the new millennium.  We have new challenges as our global family faces the darkness of terrorism head on. It is time to drop our facades and join together in creating everyday miracles that bring healing to ourselves and to others. It is our personal responsibility to generate love not hate, compassion not indifference, and positivity. Only then will the higher energetic vibrations of love and peace heal families, communities, and the nations of the world and ensure that our precious Mother Earth will thrive and support life worthy of Her.

The Power Of The Word

 by Asoka Selvarajah, Ph.D

Second to thought alone, words have tremendous power, both in the manifest and the material world. Spiritual teachings remind us that the universe is energy, thought is energy, and that our thoughts can work directly upon the energy flux of the universe, and thereby manifest our desires.

This is ultimately how anything and everything in the universe was, and continues to be, created - through the power of deliberate focused intelligence. Hence, the idea that we can become co-creators with God is true only to the extent that we master our thoughts, purify our minds and develop the capacity to focus them with unwavering concentration upon what we seek to  manifest.

Spoken words are largely overlooked in the modern world as instruments of immense esoteric power. Yes, we know their exoteric power to sway in a powerful speech. Both Hitler and Martin Luther King were excellent exponents of this - each in his own arena. However, the ESOTERIC power of words to affect change in the universe DIRECTLY has bčen the long-standing secret tradition in ancient wisdom. As the Bible says:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made"
                                                         John 1: 1,3

In a very practical sense, the quality of life you experience is directly related to the quality of the words you use. Are your words often cynical, harsh, abrasive or abusive? That is the quality of life that you will tend to manifest. Are your thoughts gentle, pure, tranquil, loving and filled with joy? That is the quality of life that you will enjoy. Your words follow your thoughts, and your thoughts manifest the world you live in.

Hence, by monitoring your words and seeking to control them, you get a direct grip on what you mind is thinking and manifesting for you. It is the mind that creates your life experience, and you get a close-up look at what it is doing from focusing upon your habitual words - both to yourself and to other people.

In ancient tradition, words were considered to have specific esoteric energies. Even the letters of the alphabet were attributed with specific numerical values, symbols, and energies. Ancient Hebrew is an excellent example of this numerological construction. Words constructed from the Hebrew alphabet represented specific formulations of vibrational energy; which is the very stuff of the universe, since the universe is vibrational energy in its very essence.

This is why great significance was given to the names of objects and entities. To have the real name of something or someone was to have control over it. The implication was that you could cause that thing or entity to obey your will. Hence, responsible use of this power was absolutely vital, or else you ran the risk of looking like the Sorcerer's Apprentice, unleashing powers you had no idea how to control and quivering at the consequences of what you had done!

This is why modern day Christians have it totally wrong about blasphemy, and "taking the Lord's name in vain". They mistakenly think that simply saying "Oh God!" or "Oh Christ!" in a moment of exasperation is a blasphemous misuse of the name of God. Wrong. These expletives are about as blasphemous as saying "Oh Goodness!", or something similar.

The real idea of "taking the Lord's name in vain" lies in the power of the name itself, as discussed above. The idea is that when you call upon the secret name of God, with all the focus of your mind and will, and with your will tuned to the Source of the universe, you can literally command God to do what you would have him do!

Hence, the idea of taking the Lord's name in vain might be to use this awesome holy power for something foolishly trivial, like summoning up a bottle of coke, because you're too lazy to go down to the corner shop. To translate this to a modern analogy, you wouldn't pull the emergency stop handle on a subway train simply to tie your shoelace!

Hence, the blasphemy here is about a MISUSE OF ENERGY - the power inherent in the secret name of God, and entrusted to the believer. One privy to the most powerful secret in the universe must use it with responsibility and full awareness, not for petty self-serving ends. Simply saying "Oh Jesus!" is neither here nor there.

Similarly, we can use words to manifest extremely powerful effects in our lives. There are many ways to do so. As we have said, one effective way is to ensure that the majority of words you use on a daily basis are wholesome and helpful: the sort of words you would like the quality of your life to be patterned after.

Another way is in meditation. You can take a world like Peace, Love, Joy, Harmony, and repeat it slowly aloud to yourself, or in the silence in your mind. Do it slowly and resonantly, allowing the full vibration of the word to penetrate your mind and body and then surround you, thereby touching your life in all areas.

Mantras are another powerful mystic use of words - an enormous topic that you would do well to study. You can take a mantra like "OM" and repeat this to yourself in meditation for healing and spiritual growth. There are even musical recordings of OM and other mantras that you can play to create a healing spiritual vibration in your surroundings.

On the other side of the coin, holding your tongue can also be most beneficial! There is increasing noise pollution in our world, as people increasingly give freč and endless vent to their every trivial thought, mostly out of pure ego. Perhaps Rap music characterizes this endless deluge of utterly worthless verbiage better than anything else in our modern culture.

When you do waste your words in meaningless chatter, you let that powerful esoteric energy dissipate worthlessly into empty space.

That is why it is a great benefit to maintain silence, whenever possible. After all, even a fool may be thought wise, as long as he keeps his mouth shut.

In his teenage years, the writer was most influenced by the Christian mystical writer, Thomas A Kempis, particularly when he wrote,

"There are many occasions when I wish I had kept my silence unbroken, and had not mixed with men. Why are we so ready to talk and chat with other people when we rarely return to our silence without some injury to our conscience? We do it because we hope to receive some comfort from our conversation together, and because we want to unburden our hearts which are full of all the things we have thought. We are only too happy to fill our thoughts with the things we love or desire of find difficult, and to talk to others about them. The pity is that it is often silly and useless to do so, for this outward comfort can destroy the inward comfort that is the gift of God. We must watch and pray therefore, so that time is not wasted."

From "The Imitation Of Christ" by Thomas A Kempis

There are good reasons why silence is such a common feature of monastic life and silence retreats abound in modern spiritual culture too. Ponder this, for your everyday life.

Overall then, the lesson of this article is that we should speak less (and certainly less foolishly). When we do use words, we should choose them with care, and use them consciously and with power, fully aware of the potent impact that have at all levels - material, emotional, mental and spiritual. Know that words have power to shape your life, and to manifest what you think about and talk about all the time. If you have not done so ůp to now, use them wisely from this day forward.

Book Review

"Going Deeper: How to Make Sense of Your Life When Your Life Makes No Sense" by Jean-Claude Koven
© 2004 Prism House Press
Hardbound; 430pp

The "Celestine Prophecy" for the New Millennium!

"Going Deeper" is truly the novel of the "New Age"---meant for all of us "fish out of water" 70 million Wanderers who have ventured onto this planet, most unfortunately still asleep. This book is conceived as a catalyst to urge the unawakened  to wake up and BE their destiny---whatever form their specialized service work will take in the upcoming planetary dimensional shifts of this earth.

Even if you don't need to be nudged awake, it is still a great book which presents the deeper concepts of the New Age in an enjoyable 'fictional' read. I absolutely love that the author has recognized the deep wisdom held by other than human beings. Animals, trees, and stones have such wisdom if we have but ears to hear.

This book has the potential to be the next "Celestine Prophecy" in terms of a bestseller crossing over into the mainstream. But, it is a much better written book, and fathoms deeper than the predecessor. In other words, one which is more suited to this current time period. That it is a first book makes it all the more an amazing accomplishment..

Even if the author does no more writing, he will have probably left a complete, eye-opening legacy for the earth Wanderers. If even a small percentage of these souls wake up from reading this, he will have done an incredible service for the Earth. I congratulate and honor you, Mr. Koven, for a masterful work.
