The Venus Transit of 2004

The sight of Venus on the Sun is by far the noblest that astronomy can afford.
Edmund Halley (the discoverer of Halley's comet), 1691

When the planet
Venus passes across the disc of the sun, this is called a Venus Transit. The next time this will happen is on June 8, 2004. This is a very rare event indeed. The last time it happened was in 1882 and so no person alive today has previously experienced it. The aim of the Venus Transit into Oneness project is to gather the largest number ever of human beings in a meditation in peace at the upcoming occasion. As the planet Venus - rich in symbolic meaning in cultures all the world - passes across the disc of the sun in the Venus Transit of June 8, 2004, a meditation led by respected spiritual leaders from the four corners of the world, will give rise to a deep experience of Oneness: We are all One.

A
Venus Transit was once the reason for the world's first international collaboration in science. The upcoming Venus Transit, on June 8, 2004, now promises to be the starting point for a deeper form of collaboration and unity including a spiritual dimension. Creating peace on Earth is to a large extent about sharing the experience of Oneness. The media broadcast meditation in Stockholm is meant to serve as support for people gathering in different places across the planet. This will be prepared for by a concert on Artists' Day (June 6th) and proposals by political and spiritual leaders how to apply the principle of Oneness to the challenges of modern man on Council Day (June 7th). Unifying humanity in such a way, at an occasion scheduled by the Cosmos, will have a profoundly positive influence on participants. It will also lead to the revival of spiritual sources that has for a long time been obscured, such as the Mayan calendar and the East Indian teaching of the path towards Enlightenment, that will provide knowledge giving hope for mankind. June 6 2004 is an important turning point in the Mayan calendar. Legend has it that the principle of light, Quetzalcoatl, would one day return to Earth from the planet Venus…and maybe the time from this Venus Transit to the next, that of June 6, 2012, around the time of the completion of the Mayan calendar is the time available to mankind for the creation of the Golden Age.

Global enlightenment is a real possibility for our generation. The Oneness Celebration invites us all to acknowledge the unity that exists and is available for us to embrace
Neale Donald Walsch

Global
Enlightenment through awareness of the Mayan calendar is of the greatest importance for world peace and human sustainability. The hour is upon us when the cycle of history draws to a close, for it is now only a matter of years until 2012. The ability we exhibit in harmonically converging for the Oneness Celebration on June 8, 2004, is critical if we are to keep our date with destiny and observe it as a species ready for evolutionary renewal.
