Illusion shattered in a
lightning flash produces instantaneous enlightenment.
Clarity is achieved in a moment of freefall, only to be snatched back like a
whiplash.
Personal safety, financial
security, relationships, even basic human rights are brutally stripped away in a
blink of true
vision. The safety net is rent, the abyss abounds.
Intricate patterns of
fantasy, so carefully woven and constructed around us,
dissipate in a poof, like stale cigar smoke caught in a draught of fresh
air.
These structures do not
exist! They are the figments of our personalities built to help us function in
uncertainty, to make appear invariable that which is
ephemeral.
And how ingenious we are!
As one set of patterns breaks down, a brand new set emerges like a phoenix to
replace
it.
We see what we want to see,
feel what we think is real and behave as if the universe owes us a life. We rely
on invention
for our well
being.
It is not the result that
is important, but the means we use to achieve it. What we appear to be is not
nearly as important
as who we really
are.
What we have is not the solid, but the space between; not the matter, but the
energy. The only thing that endures is Love. To obtain it we must totally
Trust.
